Every year Redfern Residents for Reconciliation (RRR) organise an end of
year party on the Block, Eveleigh Street, Redfern. It gets bigger and bigger
each year. Everyone who I have spoken to about the event describe a fabulous
time being had by all!

Black+White+Pink and all Reconciliation groups, family, friends and
supporters have been invited to join RRR in this year's celebration. This is
the perfect opportunity to show our support in the symbolic heart of urban
Aboriginal Australia. There will be food, barbie and hangi, non-alcoholic
drinks, entertainment, dancers, musicians, singers, and great company.

Throughout the year we are bombarded with negative images of the Block, come
along and you will discover a different social environment to the one being
portrayed in the media. Many people are working very hard on positive
initiatives in the area. Aunty Ali Golding springs instantly to mind.

Date:
Saturday 16th December 2000

Time:
If you are into food preparation, come along at 12 noon to help. If you just
want to come along to socialise, the food is expected to be ready around
2:00pm or 3:00pm. If you have special eating requirements, bring a plate!
The evening will run through till around 8:00pm/sunset.

Contact:
If you want to know more, ring Rod Haslam from RRR on (02) 9319 1902.

Gay/Lesbian/Trangender:
I will be definitely going on Saturday. If you would like to go as a group,
let me know and we can arrange to meet beforehand.

This is an alcohol and drug free event.
