I was talking about streaming a pre-recorded video on demand, not live 
streaming.

no it's not true. at least with fms2.
you can't stream a file which is being written to disk on fms2. (fms2 
will play just the portion which has been written when play starts)
in addition to this, it would require a lot of disk space...
also think, what about latency  ?
