Hello Fellow Red5 developers!

This question is constantly coming up, but since people are expanding
the usage of Red5 by leaps and bounds, i'm going to ask again.

I need to know Red5's performance with live streams and VOD Streams. My
group is working on a very specific website where people will be able to
record their live stream on a website through a flash client and Red5.
All of these recordings will be online for people to view and vote on.
This is a fairly specific application (not just a record and vote thing)
for integration into a musical, and i'll post it up once we have
everything running. For now, I have some questions.

I need to know what to consider in using Red5 as the back-end for this
site. What hardware do I need? (I have access to a selection of
machines) How many concurrent VOD streams can I serve and how many
concurrent live streams can I record with one Red5 server? Would it be
necessary to have possibly one Red5 box for the recording part, and
another for the playback, to distribute the load? This machine will be
on a T3 or DS3 so bandwidth will not be as big of an issue, and i see
there are several good posts on bandwidth usage. Still, any tips on that
would be taken to heart.

If anyone has hard numbers that would be great. All help appreciated.
This is fairly urgent, so please get back to me.

Thanks guys!

-Niels
