A US television station linked with the New York Yankees will begin
broadcasting Manchester United matches next week.

The YES Network will air United's most recent league game, followed by a
news magazine on the Red Devils dubbed 'Red Hot News', then a classic match.

Games will be shown almost two days after they are played, as Premiership
rights in the US are owned by Fox Sports.

YES spokesman Bob Davis said: "Each block of programming will have the news
program, the classic game and the current game. All games are tape-delay."

YES tried to begin broadcasting United matches at the beginning of the
season, but Fox blocked it. Financial details of the current agreement were
not made public.

The YES Network reaches about 5 million viewers in New York, Connecticut,
New Jersey and Pennsylvania, according to Davis.

It can also be seen around the country through DirecTV.

The first match, Saturday's game against Chelsea, is set to be aired
Wednesday at 7 pm EST.

United will open a four- game pre-season tour of America in Seattle next
summer.

The team will also play in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and in the New York-New
Jersey area.
