RN EXCLUSIVE: More takeover signals RN's City of London snout - Red Braces - spotted more telltale takeover signs in late trading today (Friday 3rd Oct 2003). A large number of trades went through late in the day including one for 3 million shares after the official market close with at least 5 million changing hands over the day - probably more. Details of the identity of the buyer are likely to emerge later with a stock exchange announcement - assuming the buyer is now over the 3% level .... if they weren't beforehand. The Manchester United Supporters Trust - Shareholders United - has been warning about these apparent opportunistic predators for months now. These investor shareholders are interested in taking money out of the club and if they manage to take the club off the stock exchange then after a predictable period of Sugar Daddy like spending (Abramovic style) they will start siphoning the funds off into their own accounts and there is nothing anyone will be able to do about it. Once the club is off the stock exchange no-one will be able to see the accounts - that's precisely why they'll want a full 100% takeover and de-listing. That's why supporters have to stand up and be counted now. Its time for the rich Reds who really care about their club to step forward and put some of their hard earned into United shares to keep our club independent and out of the clutches of the vultures circling over Old Trafford. Lets see some of the big names in the business community step forward and secure the future of the club. Otherwise it could soon be too late - at the rate of trading this year that could be very soon indeed.
