Use option 3, a combination of an anchor (published site) and a container
(SmartEdit and Preview).

Then on both the content class instance and the content class itself,
reference anc_javascript to con_javascript. That way your current and all
future instances will automatically draw in the contents of anc_javascript
to con_javascript. This method will also work just as well with a list
placeholder in place of the anchor placeholder.
This also gets around the issue whereby when switching between SmartEdit and
SmartTree, the javascript "page" always gains focus in SmartTree instead of
the actual page you were on.
