I was wondering why the context object has the session information but the 
values are not set.

Using the info elements for the session information is possible but using the 
RenderTags with that information doesn't really help with clean templates :-( 
unfortunately, not all information is available via the API without using RQL.

to retrieve session information:

But why don't you use the info elements?
