Tim Any, IE 10, FF, Chrome - all the same
I finally tracked this down this morning, the clue was in the JS errors. There was a piece of JS in a template (on lots and lots of pages) that renders an externally hosted chat module for the client. That chat module loaded another and apparently incompatible version of jQuery that caused the JS inside WSM to have a little meltdown. One rendertag later, I can now SmartEdit those pages.
