Process is already running.

Hello,   1) Do you know this error "Process is already running"??.  I have a script in one Unix box that is executed via remsh from 4 other Unix boxes. Once in a while, I get that error message.   2) I want to ftp a large file from one Unix machine to another Unix machine via 100BT Lan. How do I write a shell script or C program to measure the speed of 100BT Lan and not 10BT Lan? Do you have any idea?   Thanks
