Go with RPM 4. Many of the new packages RPM 3.05 will *not* be able to handle merely based on the version numbers! For example, for some reason, I couldn't get the XF86 RPM to install unless i had RPM 4, because 3.05 whined and said "Can't install packages with version numbers >= 3..."
