For firewalls, consider devil-linux (built I think via Linux From
Scratch), Gibraltar (Debian) which both run from CD. Should a Bad Event
take place, reboot and you're clean again. Both can save/restore
configurations to floppy.

I think ipcop is in the same mould, but I've not looked so closely at
that.
