Saw your reply regards Samba. After about a day and half, which I
considered a learning curve, Samba works very well with Win95 and NT
workstation (no experience with NT server yet).
Major points I found in my learning curve was some of the following
Case sensititive needed to be rem'd out.
Similar for short preserve
On security leave only share modes <- MAJOR deal
Browseable = yes (so it can be seen)
[roberts-files] <- ideally 8 chars or less, and suspect on
numerics being a not acceptable
the immediate forgoing is a big deal as is the permission to see it
such as
user = <your computer name>
ONLY other MAJOR MAJOR item to be aware of is that the Win95(a) fix
or patch for fixing password file, did not work properly with
previous versions of SAMBA.
Also get the most current RPM version from the SAMBA site, 184 or
something like that.
That's it... Just very very easy... at least to this point...
By the way there are many examples in the samba example directory.
I found them very informative.
