I am running redhat50 which came with gcc-2.7.2.3. When I went to install kde, everything went fine until I went to install kdegames. Then I get [root@localhost steveo]# rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/kdegames-beta4-1.i386.rpm failed dependencies: libstdc++.so.2.8 is needed by kdegames-beta4-1 So I went to install gcc-2.8.1. Very tricky cause you have to install gcc-2.8.1 and gcc-g++2.8.1 simultaneously. I did it. Now I need to install libg++-2.8.1. When I do that I get the following: [root@localhost steveo]# rpm -Uvh libg++-2.8.1-2.i386.rpm failed dependencies: libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by fvwm2-2.0.46-8 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by ical-2.2-3 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by libg++-devel-2.7.2.8-6 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by maplay-1.2-6 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by ncurses-devel-1.9.9e-6 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by xbill-2.0-2 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by xevil-1.5-6 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by kdeadmin-Beta4-1 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by kdebase-Beta4-1 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by kdegraphics-Beta4-1 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by kdemultimedia-Beta4-1 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by kdenetwork-Beta4-1 libstdc++.so.2.7.2 is needed by xosview-1.6.0-2 libg++.so.2.7.2 is needed by libg++-devel-2.7.2.8-6 libg++.so.2.7.2 is needed by maplay-1.2-6 libg++.so.2.7.2 is needed by ncurses-devel-1.9.9e-6 libg++.so.2.7.2 is needed by xbill-2.0-2 libg++.so.2.7.2 is needed by xevil-1.5-6 libg++.so.2.7.2 is needed by kdeadmin-Beta4-1 libg++.so.2.7.2 is needed by kdebase-Beta4-1 libg++.so.2.7.2 is needed by kdegraphics-Beta4-1 libg++.so.2.7.2 is needed by kdemultimedia-Beta4-1 libg++.so.2.7.2 is needed by kdenetwork-Beta4-1 Can someone tell me what I need to do here?
