Hello to all,

I have a Pentium 200 MMX in a FlagPoint TX512 mainboard with 32 MB of memory
and a Quantum FireBall SE 3.2GB. The Linux is RH 4.1 with all the updates.

With the new kernel the hard-disc transfer are much better. See the bonnie
benchmark bellow:

              -------Sequential Output-------- ---Sequential Input-- --Random--
-Per Char- --Block--- -Rewrite-- -Per Char- --Block--- --Seeks---
Machine MB K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU /sec %CPU
2.0.33 100 3822 84.7 4830 54.8 2138 56.5 3842 93.5 5439 89.2 84.2 4.3
2.0.34 100 6227 76.7 7893 36.8 3159 26.0 6992 78.6 9382 36.6 85.4 2.6

Take your conclusions.

The other thing that changed with the new kernel was the BogoMIPS. With
kernel 2.0.33 it was 400.59 and with the new kernel is 299.83. Can someone
explain what changed in the kernel so the BogoMIPS are different.

Regards,
Luis Sismeiro
