Thanks all for the comments re Celerons.
We have been trialling a single Celeron on the BX motherboard for some
weeks now at the 100Meg bus speed where it was found to outperform the
333Meg PII by a significant margin with a saving of about $800. If we
could have used them in pairs, a saving of $1,600/machine for a dozen
machines was worthwhile. Given the lack of SMP support in the chips
however, it looks like we will have to pay the price and buy the genuine
PII's.
