After building a 2.0.34 kernel for my RH5.0 box, I've got some
kind of module conflicts. I see these 2 errors on boot up and on
shutdown, twice in a row.
Jun 10 21:20:50 localhost modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-4
Jun 10 21:20:50 localhost modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-5
Also, when starting PPP (via UserNet) this is what I get:
Jun 10 21:15:08 localhost ifup-ppp: pppd started for ppp0 on /dev/modem
at 115200
Jun 10 21:15:08 localhost modprobe: can't locate module ppp0
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Jun 10 21:15:08 localhost kernel: registered device ppp0
Jun 10 21:15:08 localhost pppd[423]: pppd 2.3.3 started by root, uid 0
Jun 10 21:15:30 localhost pppd[423]: Serial connection established.
Jun 10 21:15:31 localhost pppd[423]: Using interface ppp0
Jun 10 21:15:31 localhost pppd[423]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/modem
And although PPP works, it sometimes has a problem with the first
site I access and often the "can't locate module" errors appear
again. I don't have a /etc/modules.conf file anymore.
Thanks.
