Very thoughtfull wording Shawn! I agree to a point.IMHO, the best way to
respond is not to respond at all to the journalist. Seems to me more of us,
including myself, should write up our own little articles and submit them to
the editor or the publication(s) and also submit them to Linux friendly
publications such as The Linux Journal.

Seems to me a few emails pointing out why we(you) disagree isnt going to change
someones opinion. Or at least the probability of it is extremley low.

They want feedback from readers good or bad, critical or not. And if someone
writes a particularly nasty article about Linux then be sure he'll pick the
most inflamitory one to post as a "see what I mean" type of example.

So, I believe by focusing on positive statements, specifically NOT refrencing
the journalist or his/her article, to the editor one may see future projects
they put out on Linux may have a different tone.

I've always tried to follow these principles in everything I do when dealing
with people in general, and I feel they apply here as well:

1) LISTEN
2) Complement BEFORE you correct
3) Be pleasant
4) Be respectfull
5) Realize that a lot of times other may not hold your views, and that
sometimes YOUR views are just as wrong to others as thiers was to you.

OK, Im done rambling.......
