OK, currently I'm running RH5.0 with the updates applied, but want to try out gnome but certain gnome packages require egcs to compile. My question then is, can I safely update to egcs? Does it require me to nuke gcc from my disk? Is it OK to install the compiled binaries, or must I compile it? Would I be better of updating to 5.1 for this? (Not a prefered option, and gnome will wait if this is the route I must take.) -- PLEASE read the Red Hat FAQ, Tips, Errata and the MAILING LIST ARCHIVES! http://www.redhat.com/RedHat-FAQ /RedHat-Errata /RedHat-Tips /mailing-lists To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
