Hi,

I am still having problems with my second ppp setup. I have ppp0 and
ppp1. ppp0 works perfectly. ppp1, however, does not. I have debugged
the connection and found that all the expects are working fine.
However, there is some weirdness happening near the end of the
connection...

This is what happens when I start ppp0 (THIS WORKS):
=====================================================
Jul  1 15:52:49 localhost ifup-ppp: pppd started for ppp0 on /dev/modem
at 115200
Jul  1 15:52:49 localhost pppd[1120]: pppd 2.2.0 started by root, uid 0
Jul 1 15:53:13 localhost pppd[1120]: Serial connection established.
Jul  1 15:53:14 localhost pppd[1120]: Using interface ppp0
Jul  1 15:53:14 localhost pppd[1120]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/modem
Jul  1 15:53:19 localhost pppd[1120]: local  IP address 137.154.196.118
Jul  1 15:53:19 localhost pppd[1120]: remote IP address 137.154.196.6
Jul 1 15:53:19 localhost pppd[1120]: proc file system not mounted

This is what happens when I start ppp1 (THIS DOESN'T WORK):
============================================================
Jun 30 14:23:33 localhost ifup-ppp: pppd started for ppp1 on /dev/modem
at 115200
Jun 30 14:23:33 localhost pppd[1380]: pppd 2.2.0 started by root, uid 0
Jun 30 14:24:01 localhost pppd[1380]: Serial connection established.
Jun 30 14:24:02 localhost pppd[1380]: Using interface ppp0
Jun 30 14:24:02 localhost pppd[1380]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/modem

... at this point the modem lights flash wildly and nothing further
happens. I think the problem is indicated in the last 2 lines (I
started with ppp1 and it wants to use interface ppp0). Though I can see
this is likely the problem, I don't know how to fix it.

Please, can someone help me? Please?!?!?!?!?

ps. Does anyone know why the last message in ppp0 is "proc file system
not mounted"? Is that something I should worry about?

Regards,
David Taylor.
