I had the same problem after updating my kernel to 2.0.32.  Did you by
chance install the util-linux update?  This is where I traced my problem to.
If so try using rpm to remove it and see if this corrects the problem.  I
can't be of much more help, I'm a newbie, just installed lixux last week,
but I'm sure some of the others can help if this doesn't work.
