Ditto, Al!

Both Exchange and Sendmail use SMTP to pass mail between each other. POP3
has nothing to do with it. POP is for client software such as Eudora,
Outlook Express, Netscape Etc. I have Exchange 5 receiving mail from an ISP
(forgot what he uses, but his mailer supports ERTN or is it ETRN command for
mail retrieval) and am using a POP client to either get mail from Exchange
or an ISP. You guessed it, I have my own E-Mail account and another at
work. I have no problems with either.

Sendmail actually works with exchange just fine. It just that different
versions of Sendmail use different commands for E-Mail retrieval. I believe
version 8.8.7 will support ETRN. Newer versions may not. Trick is to treat
Exchange as an SMTP mailer, not a POP client. Unless by Exchange you refer
to Exchange CLIENT (Microsoft has named server and client same), and if
that's the case then Native Exchange client will use .X400 connector to
connect to Exchange server, not POP. To use POP you need to run a POP
client...

Vadim.
