I feel for you.  I have the same problem.  I have had a trouble ticket
open with Redhat for several weeks - with no resolution.  Verified the
packages, checked the XF86Config file, added the X server wrapper,
mkfontdir'd the appropriate directories... still no go.

If you figure it out, I would appreciate it if you would drop an e-mail to
the list.
