See autoboot.bat for example on how to use it. Everyone I've spoken with about Linux has had problems with lilo. The easiest way I've found to get lilo to work is to startup RH5 as if you are going to install it, then perform an upgrade. Select no packages. It will verify nothing, then let you install lilo. Put it on your master boot record of the first drive. This has worked for me every time - if I don't install lilo, my mbr gets messed up and nothing boots. (Go figure - install lilo, everything is fine; Skip the installation and it writes garbage to the MBR anyway. I did this to three computers before I figured it out.) Good luck.
