We have a quandary: a box with RH 7.3 that needs to upgrade to gcc 3.2x Why? gcc-2.96 produces buggy code when optimizing FORTRAN-77, and these programs are large enough that we need the extra speed. We're hoping gcc 3.2x will fix this. We've looked around, and there's no obvious gcc 3.2 rpm for 7.3 So, do we have to upgrade the whole OS to get the improved performance?
