Hi, I just want to set up sending/receiving mail between local users on a RH8.0 machine. I though it was set up to work with default config. I seems to be wrong. When I send mail one user to another, I get a "dead.letter" like below. Depending on named running or not, the dead.letter is recived 40sec after sending or immediately. Looks like it's looking for remote users or something.
I tried "mail" as well as "sendmail". Both got the same result. Does anybody have suggestions where to look? ************* [toshie2@aaa3-sea toshie2]$ cat dead.letter >From toshie2 Thu Jan 30 17:09:56 2003 Return-Path: <toshie2> Received: (from toshie2@localhost) by localhost.localdomain (8.12.5/8.12.5/Submit) id h0V19uUv000943 for toshie; Thu, 30 Jan 2003 17:09:56 -0800 Date: Thu, 30 Jan 2003 17:09:56 -0800 From: toshie2 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: toshie Subject: test test [toshie2@aaa3-sea toshie2]$ ps -ef |grep sendmail root 772 1 0 17:07 ? 00:00:00 sendmail: accepting connections smmsp 782 1 0 17:07 ? 00:00:00 sendmail: Queue runner@01:00:00 Toshi Esumi AuBeta Networks Corp. -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
