Hi,
I've just built another RH8.0 linux box, using this one as the file store
and tape backup server.
It has two Adaptec cards in it, the Adaptec 2940U2W (used for the SCSI
disks) and the Adaptec AHA1542cfk (used for the CDROM and Tape backup unit).
My problem is, the aha1542 module doesn't load on boot, only when I run the
"insmod aha1542" does it load, which then allows me access to the tape drive
and cdrom.
Here's my modules.conf file:
[root@hippo root]# cat /etc/modules.conf
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias eth0 eepro100
alias scsi_hostadapter aic7xxx
alias usb-controller usb-uhci
alias scsi_hostadapter1 aha1542
As mentioned earlier, it's a clean Red Hat 8.0 installation, no tinkering
yet:
Linux hippo 2.4.18-14 #1 Wed Sep 4 13:35:50 EDT 2002 i686 i686 i386
GNU/Linux
