Hello,
I am trying to upgrade the kernel using up2date on a 7.1 box.
The up2date command being run is up2date -u -f
The error is:
Fetching package list for channel: redhat-linux-i386-7.2...

There was a fatal RPM error. The message was:
Failed installing packages:
('installing package kernel-smp-2.4.18-24.7.x needs 8Mb on the /
filesystem', (9, '/', 7914496))
('installing package krb5-devel-1.2.2-16 needs 8Mb on the / filesystem',
(9, '/', 7914496))
There is plenty of space in the / and /boot, as follows:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda6 372M 305M 48M 87% /
/dev/sda1 45M 24M 19M 56% /boot
/dev/sda5 1.9G 1.6G 215M 89% /home
none 503M 0 503M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/sda2 3.9G 1.1G 2.7G 27% /usr
/dev/sda7 251M 193M 45M 81% /var
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
JR
