Doesn't work for me. My boot loader is GRUB, but my MBR still contains the string "LILO" at offset 6. Hence I would peek at a larger portion of the MBR, e.g. with $ hexedit /dev/hda and page through the first 512 bytes or so. They should contain stuff from /usr/share/grub/i386-redhat/stage1 if it's GRUB. Following (in my case) are several strings which mention either "grub" or "GRUB". - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+Uge/0iMVcrivHFQRAhK8AJwP1qL7B1Ca4H41ywQy9GgNLNmqzQCfYZDH nkbMP2mZOtDOwB8DNVakptY= =t8Ox -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
