Make sure you made a samba user and enabled that user. The smbuser program
will make the user account and it is best to make it the same as the unix
account. SWAT can do it for you, or smbuser and smbpasswd.

Subject: samba - Win XP

Hi All,

I set up samba on my linux box, and when using smbclient on this box it
works fine .
However, when I try to map the share via Windows XP , I get "The user is not

authorized" , although I use the correct name and password ( same as I use
with smbclient and that works fine ) .

Does anyone has a clue on what could be the cause ?

Thanks a lot for the help .

Regards,

   Tim
