8.12.1 and 8.12.8 (the new bug fix level), BUT they have changed the default location of the directory where you have
to put (links to) the files that smrsh will run.

If you have a favorite place (say /etc/smrsh), then put this at
the end of include/sm/conf.h, viz

#undef SMRSH_CMDDIR
#define SMRSH_CMDDIR "/etc/smrsh"

#endif /* ! SM_CONF_H */


Are you refering to compiling the SRPM, or from Sendmail.org's source tarball?
