Is anyone else having trouble using .htaccess on RH 8.0? I am trying to protect a directory under /var/www/html/mydirectory and I have followed the instructions for using .htaccess. When I attempt to go to that directory, I get blocked and I do not get a login dialog to allow me to put in my username/password. AM I doing something wrong or has something changed or broken?
