   I have problem with french caracter (é,à,è).
   I can't display them in xterm.
   Some people said to me that it was a locale problem but it only resolute
   my problem to display them on a shell. (sorry in don't speak english
   very well).

try kbdconfig from the xterm itself. I had the same trouble but with Spanish ;-) (á,é,í,ó,ú,Ñ,ñ)
