Curtis,
Watch out...SBS4.5 is really bad about co-operating with
anyone/thingelse. I did this in my house a while ago...baby steps at a
time. SBS4.5 does all this stuff: DB/PDC/DHCPS/DNS/WINS/Proxy. I meant to
write a migration plan...heres the short version
Replace the SBS4.5 DHCP/DNS/Proxy (if using it with dhcpd/BIND/iptables on
linux).
Remove Windows Proxy Client (from client) (if having it) update IE settings
Reboot clients
Configure DHCP on Linux & turn on
Turn off DHCP on Windows SBS4.5
Turn on BIND (named)
Turn off DNS on WIndows SBS4.5
Configure iptables for NAT something
Alternately make yourself a Proxy
Configure DHCP for gateway/proxy info on Linux
Clients now hear this...start using new Linux DHCP/DNS/NAT/Proxy
Samba to Replace the WINS functionality.
Now Samba to make a new Domian with Samba PDC
Clients to new domain.
SBS4.5 machine to garbage can
