Rebooting WILL make the change effective, but, kids, let's try to remember
that this is UNIX and not Windows. We don't NEED to reboot to make network
changes effective.

1. Make your changes to /etc/sysconfig/network and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
2. # /etc/rc.d/init.d/network stop
3. # /etc/rc.d/init.d/network start

Voila. You've stopped the network, restarted it (and thus loaded the new
interface configurations).
