Hi,

I'm a Linux newbie and this is the first time I am trying to do this. I have a CD that I want to store in my harddisk as ogg vorbis files (or mp3). I'd like tomknow which tool I can use to encode from CD (which is wav I think) to ogg vorbis?

Also, although I can use KsCD or XMMS to read the CD, I can mount the cd on /mnt/cdrom using mount /dev/cdrom, to be able to manipulate the tracks as files. Why is this?

BR,
