Did you try installing gd-1.8.4-11.i386.rpm or gd-devel-1.8.4-11.i386.rpm? You didn't specify which RedHat version you're using, but try installing either gd-1.x or gd-devel-x for your RedHat version. The filenames I specified are for RedHat 9.
