The modem is defined in the net as ppp0.
  
However I already have this working.  

I´m  far away of being expert in linux. Some of Howtos that  
I readed  spoke in the configuration of a firewall to cross the  
configuration difficulties.  
  
I installed three firewalls and I configured that one 
that had the best instructions manual (firestarter).  
  
After the configuration everything was working as I wanted.  
For now it is everything resolved.  
  
I will pass to the following difficulty.

How is the modem set up for networking?  Is it set as eth0, eth1, or 
something like that?
