I get this in response to telnet localhost 25:

220 John.optonline.net ESMTP Sendmail 8.12.8/8.12.8; Tue, 17 Jun 2003
22:27:58 -0400

I run Sendmail to deliver my mail to my ISP. Does this constitute
running a server?
