I'm currently implementing VPN stuff here. I don't
recommend you to use CIPE because all the versions of CIPE shipped from Red Hat
have a "small packets
bug" which could bring you some trouble.
I'm using the PPTP protocol. You can learn about
it there: http://poptop.sourceforge.net/dox/
It's now well documented and easy to install and
configure.
PPTP protocol is fully compatible with Windows OS's
which are shipped with pptp clients, or server in the case of NT
and 2000.
I must advise you that the pptp protocol uses MCHAP
authentication method which have a security weakness (i wouldn't be able to
explain it) but you must
be aware of it.
