I suggest you dig out the very first message and read it again.
If you want to see how it looks like, try the following:

  $ su -
  # mv /boot/grub/stage2 /boot/grub/stage2.bak
  # reboot
  
Then from what you see on the black screen, drop everything except
the word GRUB in the upper left corner.
