Follow up to request for help on X crash on logout. I was able to write down the last few lines of the error message:
Could not init font path element UNIX/7100 Removing from list! Fatal server error Could not open default font fixed XIO: Fatal IO error 104 Help to recover would be appreciated Thanks Manish -----Original Message----- From: Agrawal, Manish [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2003 10:36 AM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: X crash on logout I have Redhat 9. Yesterday, when I logged out of Gnome, X crashed. I logged out in the usual manner: Gnome menu -> logout -> logout. Now X will not restart on my machine. I have the error log on a floppy but I can't open the floppy on a Windows machine. The error message basically says: Unable to find font: fixed. It would be great if someone could help me fix the problem. I would hate to have to reinstall Redhat as the solution. ___Rant___ In Windows, at least the GUI never crashes. A reboot usually fixes every problem. Here, my GUI is completely dead. ____End Rant___ Thanks Manish -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
