I have had the same problem before.  After install just restart your
computer with the install disk in the drive.  Once you are at the lilo
prompt, just type rescue root=/dev/hdX.  This will boot your linux
partition.  Make sure the hdX is your root partition.  Once booted, just
type lilo at the command prompt.  The lilo.conf file should have already
been made during setup, so make sure you at least try installing lilo during
setup.
