A few things:
- make sure you are using the correct, and most recent server
- make sure you have read /usr/X11R6/doc/README.S3 for parameters
that can be supplied to the server to force it to use the
correct amount of memory
- make sure you actually do have the amount of memory you think
you do. In other words, did you insert the RAM chips backwards?
Are there BIOS configuration that must be done? ...
