guys and gals...

I have a small problem and am hoping someone can help me out with it..

A few weeks ago my boss requested root access to one of our webservers.. I didn't like the idea but didn't have much of a choice.. so he got it..

Now he has a disturbing habit of changing the root password on me and forgetting what he set it to (he thinks this is a good thing for security)

Therefore I have to constantly restart the webserver from a bootdisk or cd and reset the root password again back to something I know..

I was wondering if there was another way around this.. I was thinking that there might be a way to setup "su root" to accept *my* login as a trusted user and therefore not ask me for a password when I "su root".. then I can simply su and change the password back again that way..

I know this is probably a very insecure thing to do.. but having to restart the webserver every couple of days is getting annoying.. and as that webserver is used quite a lot.. I am forever getting complains that people can't see their websites..

Any ideas?

Cheers

Kel.
