I have problem with configuration of wu-ftp. I am using webmin for that purpose. The problem is that when I connect as unix user I get displayed my home dir but I am able to go out of my home dir which is not good. For the anonymous ftp everything is ok - anonymous users can't leave the home directory.
What am I missing at the configuration?

$ man ftpaccess
- read up on guestusers as compared to realusers.

Yes I have read it allread . The problem is that I have allready once installed wu-ftp and I don't know what I have done but all my unix users were also locked inside their home directory.
Please advise how to make this.

For starters, don't use webmin for editing the files. webmin has a lot of good points, but it makes it harder for you to see what's really going on. FTP servers need to be set up properly, and you need to understand what you're trying to do, rather than just clicking buttons. Go to a shell prompt and type out /etc/ftpaccess. Have a very careful read at what options are currently defined and then review the man pages to see what those options do. Pay attention to the following options: restricted-uid guestuser guestgroup

With wu-ftpd, it's easy to set up an insecure server. Save your current
ftpaccess file, edit it to reflect the options you want,and then test.
You do not need to restart or reload xinetd - every new incoming FTP
connection re-reads the ftpaccess file.

The official Guest HOWTO is at http://www.wu-ftpd.org/HOWTO/guest.HOWTO

Thanks for the link. In the meantime I have allready found the problem: I have just disabled real unix users and leave anonymous and guests and now is like it is suppose to be.
