No he has a 10/100 and a GigE nic. The e100, or the eepro100 will only grab the 10/100 nic
I believe I've seen the eepro100 pick up a 10/100/1000 card. If he does in fact have both in his system, he can verify with "lspci | grep Ethernet".
No see above. The older e1000 driver doesn't recognize the newer chipset.
That's where the newer kernel/driver will come in.
