I'm finding a bit more, but still am at a loss. It seems that ld is either also upgraded during my mess session. (this has been a few weeks ago and I forgot exactly what all I did) This was when I upgraded to glibc 2.3 i386 instead of glibc 2.3 i686 and have since gone back to glibc 2.2 i686 and have been a bit gun shy to mess around with glibc for the time being. Seems a LOT of people did this same thing, most doing a complete reinstall. Boo RedHat for allowing this without even a warning.

Running ld -V returns
ld: /lib/i686/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.3' not found (required by ld)

So, to me it looks like I have the wrong version of whatever rpm ld comes with. Any ideas?
