I have this problem as mentioned:
rpmdb: unable to join the environment
error: db4 error(11) from dbenv->open: Resource temporarily unavailable
error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - Resource temporarily
unavailable (11)
error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm
warning: up2date-3.1.23.2-1.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID

I tried to kill all the __db files and do a rpm -rebuilddb but that
produces the error:
rpmdb: write: 0xbfffb8a0, 8192: Invalid argument
error: db4 error(22) from dbenv->open: Invalid argument
error: cannot open Packages index
Any ideas on how to resolve this ? can I dump the contents of
/var/lib/rpm and expect the system to rebuild it with some rpm command ?
