I'm not really using anything. I use smbstatus if I ever need something to help me troubleshoot smb connections. If you notice, I've just replied "inline" to your questions. I've also trimmed text that is no longer relevant. It's considered good form NOT to "top-post". This is where you simply hit reply, then start typing at the top of the email.
