Hi all,
I'm trying to rdump from one rh5 machine to another. The one with the
tape drive dumps its own files fine. When I try rdump from the other I
get this...
prompt> /sbin/rdump 0uf tapemachine:/dev/nst0 /
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Thu Jun 25 22:08:07 1998
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
DUMP: Dumping /dev/hda1 (/) to /dev/nst0 on host tapemachine
DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories]
DUMP: estimated 22909 tape blocks on 0.59 tape(s).
DUMP: Protocol to remote tape server botched (code "Where are you?").
rdump: Lost connection to remote host.
DUMP: Bad return code from dump: 1
I've been getting a similar message ("Where are you?") when rdumping
from rh5 linux to solaris 2.4, but it's only a warning and it rdumps
anyway. Now I guess I have to figure it out. Anybody have the answer?
Need more info? Please ask.
Thanks,
John Weber
